Drunken Prawns!

Tried to remake the prawns made in Derek's house. But this time made with proper equipment and in a kitchen, not bbq pit :D



Looks good but its not the best yet. I can tell cause me really like to eat and cook :)

mistakes I made cooking this dish,
-adding too much water. Was thinking the water level should be able to cover all the prawns. But the result will cause the prawns to lose the Bacardi taste. Should add Bacardi to water, 1:1.
-cooking it for too long. Should shorten the cooking time. Longer cooking time cause the prawns to be harder and losing its natural sweet flavor. Should stop cooking and take out prawns after all the prawns have turn to orange.

Modification recepie:(not tested)

Ingredients:
1 kg big tiger prawns(about 20-25 prawns, live prawns preferred as its is naturally sweeter)
100ml of Bacardi (was thinking of vodka, Chardonnary, beer or any red wine might also works)
100ml water or stock(hot water/stock preferred)

Preparation methods:
1) peel prawns. Peel only the body part, leaving the head and the tail intact.
2) turn fire to high and place saucepan on the fire. Pour water or stock into saucepan.
3) after water or stock is bring to boil, put in all the prawns and quickly stir fry.
4) add in bacardi and light up the sauce pan with fire. this will cook the prawns faster and burn away the alcohol. quickly stir fry.
5) off the fire and serve it hot.

Serving:
Serves 4-5 (if including me should be only 2-3).
serve it with white wine or icy cool beer. i prefers Bacardi Breezer peach or orange :)


LOL! i actually did a recepie! Prawns are not really some health food. eat in moderation as it is high in cholestrol, especially the brain part of the prawns.
